Why did you start this business?

After experiencing the heartache of losing his pet, Gary Beal, one of the Co-Founders of LostPetLocator.co.uk, realised that something had to be done. Of all of the UK based pet finding websites on the internet, none had the required number of people registered or relationship with Vet’s, Charities and Shelters, to ensure success in reuniting him and his partner with their beloved dog. After a lot of driving around, pinning posters to trees, sleepless nights and calling animal shelters daily - Gary, Sue and Tanya the dog were reunited. This is when LostPetLocator was born!

How many pets can I register?

There is no limitation to the amount of pets you can register, we want you to have peace of mind regarding all of your family!

What type of pets can I register?

You are able to register any type of pet! Although we do not expect to be inundated with lost elephants anytime soon - you never know!

How much does it cost to register my pet?

Nothing at all!! This is a free pro-active service to assist in reuniting you with your pet.

Why do I need to register my pet right now?

Should you lose your pet, every second counts in successfully finding him/her. Once you are registered, all of the important information is stored; leaving you safe in the knowledge that should the worst happen, you need simply click a button to put the search into action!!

What personal information will be displayed?

We fully comply with the data protection act and none of your personal details will be on view, or publically accessible. The only live information will be your user name and should your pet stray; your approximate location with a picture of your pet will be displayed. All information is fully editable by the user 24/7 giving you complete control over the data.

I have already had my pet micro chipped, why do I need to register?

Although a microchip is something that we strongly recommend to all pet owners, it needs to be remembered that it is not a tracking device and is simply used to identify your pet, once found. As soon as you are registered we will then use all of our resources to inform as many people as possible that your pet is lost!

Can I register my pet without a picture?

Yes! However, to increase the chances of success, we strongly recommend that you use an image along with your pet description. Remember, a picture paints a thousand words!!

Also, as part of our service, we are able to provide you with a high quality, professional “lost Pet” poster, using the image that you provide.

Can I remove my registered pet from the site?

If we or another service have been successful in reuniting you with your pet, we would like you to share the good news with our community, helping to ease the anxiety of some of our other members. However if for any other reason you need to remove your listing, simply contact us and we would happy do this for you.

How are you driving traffic to the site?

Due to Gary being one of the top SEO specialists in the world, we are ensured of an enormous online presence! On top of this, we are involved in ongoing, email marketing campaigns, radio broadcasts and advertisements in various local newspapers. We are also working closely with the local veterinary surgeries/charities to ensure that people are being made aware of our service.

How is the site being sustained financially?

We are currently operating on a very stringent budget. So far, we have been 100% privately funded. All of us have invested a great deal of time and effort to make sure this service is the best it can be.
